Art’s Old Town Bicycle Repair is located in the heart of the North Wheeling Historic District at the intersection of the National Road Rt 40 (7th Street) and Main Street. It is housed in one half of a duplex structure built in 1843 by Arthur M. Phillips for his children. Mr. Phillips owned and operated a foundry along the banks of the Ohio River just below the structure where he manufactured steam engines for river boats. 

When it comes to bicycles and bicycle repair, serious cycling – commuting, touring, recreation and sport - has been and continues to be a passion of mine, at least since 1989. That passion combined with an interest in tinkering passed on to me by my father and my own ever-growing technical curiosity led me to have a goal of someday opening up a bicycle repair shop.  

It has been many years in coming, but that "someday" has finally arrived.  I am excited to start my second career and to be able to set up shop not only in a structure and neighborhood rich in history, but also only a quarter mile from the Wheeling Heritage Bicycle Trail.  More importantly, I am looking forward to providing bicycle repair service for the current and future cycling communities - from the seasoned cyclists to the beginners and all levels in between.

 Art’s Old Town Bicycle Repair will eventually be a full-service bicycle repair shop offering services ranging from tune-up and general maintenance to specialty work on drive train components, wheels, brakes, hubs and headsets. Currently however, due to the limited availability of some specialty tools and parts during this start-up phase, some services may be limited or not available. We are working every possible angle to reach the status of full-service bicycle repair shop to be able to address your needs. Please call or stop by to discuss your immediate service needs.

We also offer limited Wheeling Heritage Trail-side repairs and limited bicycle repair pick-up and delivery.
